Music on Thursdays at LMC
Wednesdays at Christ Church
A series of lunchtime instrumental and vocal concerts and organ recitals, arranged by Peter Steadman, which take place weekly in the Methodist and United Reformed churches of Leatherhead, Surrey, showcasing current students and recent graduates of London's music colleges, together with local musicians of a similar standard.
Andrews Massey Duo
2013 was an excellent year for flautist Emily Andrews and guitarist David Massey. Early in the year they released their first CD "... from the roots", featuring their own arrangements of folk and traditional melodies, to considerable acclaim. In the Autumn came their second release "Make Merry" giving their take on traditional Christmas carols. Their latest CD, "Stolen Serenades", released in 2014, contains their arrangements of classical masterpieces by Mozart and Schubert.
Graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, Emily and David are also regulars with Music on Thursdays audiences, giving both duo and solo recitals, in which they include classical and traditional repertoire.

1766 Thomas Parker English Pipe Organ
Leatherhead Parish Church
Originally installed at Watford Parish Church, the Parker organ was purchased by Leatherhead and used until the late 19th century, being replaced by a Walker organ.
The Walker too fell into disuse and was replaced by an Allen digital.
After a fire in the transept it was discovered that some of the recoverable parts pre-dated the Walker, which led to research uncovering the Parker organ's story.
Lottery funding and local fund-raising enabled Goetze & Gwynne to restore the instrument and it is now regularly played in services and recitals.
The parish website and Goetze & Gwynne have plenty more information about this fascinating restoration project.
